I know. I told you a while ago that I had some big news coming up.

I do. And it's that big news that's been keeping me away from posting.

Plus I was sick (again) last week and didn't have the energy to do anything let alone type.

But here it is:

We're buying a new house. As soon as we pick one out anyway.

We've been spending our spare time scouring the market and looking at houses.

It's exhausting.

Each time we find what we're looking for, something else is wrong with it.

So if I'm not here, I'm out looking at houses.

And beating my head against a wall.

For most of the country, Spring is here.

Evidently, Mother Nature read my post about daylight savings time (because I know she reads my blog), and she sent us this:

Snow. Lots and lots and lots of snow.

I know she probably chuckled about it all day yesterday as I spent the day cooped up inside with 2 kids with an incredible Spring fever.

Luckily, it was semi-nice today and most of it has melted away and the streets are once again clear.

Just in time to go to work tomorrow.

Thanks (or no thanks) to my old school friend, Al, for telling me on facebook about this.

The new Sun Chips bag is 100% compostable but this fantastic idea has one HUGE flaw.

See for yourself here:

I was going to make this video myself but a. I can't send long videos from my cell phone to the web and b. the batteries are dead in my camera and I'm too lazy to go downstairs to get more.

So pretend this is me in the video demonstrating the new 100% Compostable bag. Also imagine that I pronounce COMPOSTABLE correctly just as I would in real life.

Dude, it's com-post-a-ble. And yes, I said "Dude".

Oh, and you can also imagine that I need a shave just like this guy.

Only it's my legs that need to be shaved.

I found this tshirt for sale at and I want it.

Bonus, all of their shirts are on sale right now for $10.

Anyone want to buy it for me?

I can't afford it due to the big news I have coming up.

Normally, daylight savings time really kicks me in the rear end. Especially in the Spring.

Today, it really didn't phase me until I got home from work.

But it got me in a good way.

It was still light outside.

I grilled chicken and was able to see what I was doing.

Unburnt chicken tasted fantastic!

We even got a bonus to this new daylight after work thing.

The temperature outside was beautiful.

The dogs played outside.

The ice cream man even drove through the neighborhood.

Dare I say it?

Is Spring here?

Oh, and by the way, don't forget to change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

I found this sitting on my counter in the kitchen today.

This box went missing from the kitchen about a week ago (maybe more).

I assumed someone had eaten them all and tossed it.

Instead, I find it has been in The Teenager's room and returned to the kitchen when he cleaned his room before leaving town for spring break.

This is not how it left the kitchen.

The graffiti is, I assume, the work of a bored kid.

I'll bet he redecorated the box while talking on the phone with his girlfriend.

He's always talking on the phone with his girlfriend, so it's a safe bet.

This is my Ranger. My best pal.

He will be turning 6 in a few weeks. It amazes me that it seems like we just brought him home as a puppy.

I wanted a Jack Russell, but Daddeee wanted something with fur and a tail.

I was searching the dog ads in the newspaper online when I ran across an ad for Jack Russell-American Eskimo mix puppies.

It's kismet. It's meant to be.

I called Daddeee and told him I'm going to get me a dog tonight. I didn't ask. I just told him I was going to do it.

He said, "OK."

He always lets me do whatever I want. Not!

So off we went to get a puppy that night.

As it turned out, the seller was a Jack Russell breeder living next door to an American Eskimo breeder. They didn't know until the puppies were born that the J.R. female was promiscuous with the neighbor A.M.

I let The Teenager (who was still a Kid back then) pick out the puppy of his choice (and he chose the same one I would have chosen).

I named him Ranger on the way home and it fit to a T.

So, readers, although he looks like a miniature Border Collie, he is most definitely not one.

We call him our Jackimo!
