Semi-Date Night

Big Brother went to the movies with friends last night so hubster and I got to go out on a semi-date last night. I call it a semi-date because little brother went with us but sat in his carseat on the restaurant table and slept the whole time.

We went up to Zona Rosa (a "plaza-like" mall in Kansas City that was designed after The Plaza in KC) and ate at a place called Granite City. It's a food place and a brewery. Hubster had a "Northern Light" which is a pale ale. He liked it really well. I, personally, don't get into trying brews like he does. I had a pepsi.

The food was pretty good. Our waiter was a tad bit too chipper for my taste. Especially at the end of the meal when he asked if we saved room for dessert. We both said no. His comment was "well at least I offered!". This comment struck me as odd because to me if you are "offering" then it should be free. Was he offering to buy us dessert? It was just a strange choice of wording.

Hubster griped because they didn't have sweet n low for his iced tea. This was odd to me too, since I thought ALL restaurants kept s-n-l on the tables. They only had sugar and Equal. Another odd thing was that they didn't give hubster a spoon with his tea. Maybe an oversight by the overly-chipper waiter.

We were going to walk around Zona Rosa after dinner but the temp dropped a little too much to take Little Brother. We chose instead to go to Starbucks!

Now, I'm a Starbucks addict. I'll admit it. Instead of going for ice cream like normal families, we go for Starbucks. Big Brother loves it (although he wasn't with us this time). They have a new drink called a Marble Mocha Machiatto. We dubbed it the MnMnM. I'll definitely order it again....maybe tonight hehe.

Big Brother went to see The Pink Panther. He liked it. Gave it 3 popcorn bags as a rating. Ten yr olds are so funny. He says I really need to see it but I think I'll wait for DVD.

Was going to take a shower here in a few but Hubster left his paint crap in the tub and I can't move it. Looks like I'll just have to stay in my jammies until he gets home from work at 3:30. Can I stand to smell myself until then? I'll sure try. LOL

Basking in the sun...

It was finally warm enough outside that we were able to take Little Brother out to meet some of the neighbors. All Little Brother wanted to do was sit with his eyes closed unless big brother was blocking the sunlight. Big brother wanted to go ride his bike.

And finally, I was able to get a picture of Little Brother with his daddy.

Little Brother turned 5 weeks yesterday. He's getting big so fast. I can't wait to see what his personality will be like.

A few minutes of peace...

Little Brother, the fussy one, has finally fallen asleep so I have a few minutes to spend on me time. What to do? I must not be very imaginitive because here I am blogging. Actually, I as going to upload my newest photos but discovered the Hubster took them off the computer. I'll have to come back later when I find out what he did with them and add them.

I've been spending a little of my time checking out other people's blogs. It's been a very interesting trip across the web. Some that I've found rather interesting are a gay guy that likes to be naked, a priest that is married with children (a religion I don't know about I guess), a joke poster, and a recipe poster. I'll keep searching the blogs because now I'm addicted to the interesting, for lack of a better word, posts.

I joined the ranks of the stay-at-home moms officially yesterday. My ex-boss is an ass. I think he did me a favor though. I'm looking forward to being home with Little Brother for a while.

Well, I think I'll use a little of Max's sleep time to do some things upstairs...like clean the bedroom, finally. The hint of putting the hamper next to the bed failed. The clothes still landed on the floor...go figure.

I'M GONNA BE A GRANDMA!

Well, not right away, of course. Maybe in 15-20 years.

My oldest son reminded me of something I said years ago when my dear Hubster, and I thought that we would never have another child. I was going through one of many moments mourning the child I would never have. I was telling Hubster about how desperately I wanted to become a grandma someday. I want to be the grandma that bakes the cookies and does crafts with her grandkids. I have every intention of becoming an awesome grandma. Well, my theory, as silly as it may seem, is that the fewer children I have, the less of a chance of becoming a grandma I have. I know, silly. What if dear son never had kids and I'd never get to become a grandma?

Well, now that Little Brother is here, it doubles my chances of becoming a grandma! Big Brother reminded me of this. (Isn't it amazing he can't remember to brush his teeth but he can remember a conversation he overheard 4 years ago?)

I'm looking forward to being that grandma...but I can wait until it's the right time. Don't rush it boys! LOL

Max is 4 Weeks Old!!

Little Brother reached 4 weeks old yesterday. It's going by so fast. Before we know it, he will be Big Brother's age. You can tell that big brother really loves little brother.

I might be a prejudiced momma but I think Little Brother is the cutest baby since Big Brother was born!

Max's First Bath

Max's cord finally fell off on Thursday so we were able to give him his first bath. He did not like it at all. But he smelled SO good after it was done and I felt better that he had finally had a decent bath.

After it was all done and he was in nice warm jammies he slept for 3 hours! I'm thinking that lavendar and chamomile stuff really works.

Pictures of my boys

Here are the first postings of pictures of my adorable boys for my blog. This is new to me so I'm hoping it works the way I'd like.

The first picture is my favorite of Max. It was taken in the NICU when he was 3 days old.

The second picture is of both of my boys. Trey is 10 and the best big brother in the world! This was the first time he was able to hold Max since he wasn't allowed in the NICU. It about killed the poor kid to have to wait to hold his little brother.
