BIRTHDAY BLAST...

Today was Baby LITTLE Brother's 1st birthday party. We had an awesome time. There was a ton of good finger foods such as mini-eggrolls (thanks to Aunt Ang), deviled eggs, honey bbq wings, bacon-wrapped scallops, smokies in biscuits, veggie tray, and of course, CAKE!

Lots of people came to the party including Bams and Pops (grandparents from Springfield) along with cousin, Ty; The Ruizs (friends from Garden City); Aunt Ang, cousin Joe and his daughter, Natelly (from Kearney); Aunt Vicky with cousins, Tiff and Tara along with boyfriends, Mark and Aaron; and since it was at Sweetie's house, Sweetie and Sam. I think everyone had an awesome time.

Now who do you think had the best time of all? Well, that would be Little Brother! Here's proof: (I won't bore you with a ton of pictures of the whole party, just the one's of LB eating his cake. And, yes, he ate the ENTIRE cake!)

I THINK I NEED DRUGS...

I'm seriously going crazy. I'm so stressed out with my life that I don't know what to do. I shouldn't feel this way now that things are working themselves out but I can't get beyond this lousy feeling that I have.

I have a lot of time to myself, which I think is a lot of the problem. My days are spent conversing with a 1-year-old. I talk to people at work but I haven't been there long enough to make a connection. I talk to my oldest on my breaks. I spend the mornings and the weekends with him. Hubster is driving me nuts lately, too. He's demanding in a time when I just don't need it. I think it's time for me to make an appointment and see someone....seriously.

Ugh! I just don't know what else to say. Someone point me in the right direction.

BTW, Future MILFS, the batteries ran out on the scale this morning so I can't post. I'll have to post this weekend after I go buy a 9 volt!

SLEEPING THE WEEKEND AWAY....

I've spent the majority of the weekend asleep. It's been nice. I feel like I've lost my weekend, but at least I'm rested. I needed to take care of my sleep deficit so I can start all over again this week.

My days start early and end late. The one good thing about my schedule is that since I'm getting up off my fat butt, I've lost 9.5 lbs! I'm so excited. That's almost a big bag of potatoes! Who'd have thought that adding a meal a day would actually make me LOSE weight? LOL I'm loving it.

The guys went to Monster Jam today and left me and Little Brother home alone. Little Brother took pity on ol' mom and napped the entire time they were gone. So did ol' mom.

I'm off now to see what my Future MILF friends have done this week. I'm hoping for tons of loss this week (that sounds bad but it's really good). Keep up the good work, ladies!

Update: Cartman is GONE! I feel such a loss that I can no longer look forward to seeing Cartman stranded on the side of the road. Friday was trash day so I'm thinking someone tossed him. Good luck, Cartman, on your new journey to the city dump!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DARLING BABY...

My little baby isn't a baby anymore. He officially turns one at 10:36 pm. I'll be at work. I've been feeling rather melancholy all day (actually for the past few days) because I can't believe how quickly this past year went by. It's amazing how much he's changed!

He's now a walking, talking ball of spitfire! He walks all over the place, no longer just a step here or there. He says dada, mama, bubba, nono, and yeah! At least those are the ones we can understand. He jabbers constantly and he's LOUD!

We're not having his party until the 28th so that everyone could be involved. Here's his invitation. If you're wondering, Sweetie is my mom!

Updates: Weight loss this past week was a 1/2 pound. Not bad for pigging out all last weekend for my birthday!

Cartman is still thriving on Brighton Ave. He should be freed from the ice pile today since it's a bit warmer outside today.

YOU CAN'T KILL CARTMAN...YOU BASTARDS!!...

Hehehehe it's too funny. The other night, before the ice and snow, I was on my home from work when I came upon a Cartman doll in the road not far from home. I think I ran him over. I wasn't the first to squish poor Cartman. He had more tracks on him than a crackhead.

Now that wasn't the end of poor Cartman's journey. We had a big ice storm last week. For 2 nights in a row, we got ice pelted on us along with freezing temperatures. That was followed by a weekend of more freezing temps and sleet and snow.

Now this poor Cartman figure has been through the ice trucks sprinkling salt on the roads, snow plows scraping the streets, and whatever traffic flows down Brighton Avenue. He's still holding strong!

I look for him each night on my way home from work. He's there, in the street, each night. He's looking pretty worn yet he's still holding strong.

I wonder to myself each night if I should pull over and pick up this poor Cartman...rescue him from his terrible fate.

But, alas, it's too damn cold!

Note: For anyone that doesn't know, Cartman is a character from Comedy Central's South Park

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!...

So today I officially turn 37. I'm really feeling it, too. Not so much in the sense that my body feels old, but that I can remember back when my parents were 37 and they were old!

I started my new job and the majority of the people that work there are so young. I'm used to being the baby of the group and now I'm one of the older people. I'm one of the "working moms". I'm the woman with the mini-van (don't get me wrong, I love my mini-van. It's just I'm not one of the sporty-car type people anymore).

My sister is taking the kids tonight. It will be the first night I've spent away from my darling little baby (who's not a baby anymore considering he turns 1 next week!). We are going over to Mom's house to have steak and shrimp with some friends. Then, we are just staying there because I plan to drink and I don't want to worry about driving home.

On the Future MILF's topic, I lost a 1/2 pound this week. Not much but at least it's in the right direction. I did do really well with my veggies this week. I developed a cold a few days ago so I really haven't eaten a lot the past 2 days. Nothing sounds good and it doesn't taste right anyway.

So, back on the turning 37 thing. I think I just need to find a way to embrace the "Old" me. Maybe a new hairstyle or even better, a new color is in order. Hmmmm, wonder what I'd look like as a platinum blond? LOL That's a funny thought. Maybe I'll just go blond. I'll talk to Miss Clairol and see what she thinks. I did decide that I'm going to let it grow longer. I'm sick of the short hair thing.

What other changes can I make to embrace a new, more mature ME?

THINGY THURSDAY...

No I'm not talking about that "thingy". I'm talking about my son's Nintendo DS Lite. He bought it using his birthday money back in November. He used a gift card he got from his aunt to buy the game "Brain Age". He allowed me to play with his Nintendo DS at first.

"Brain Age" is a test of how old your brain is. Through a series of tests, it determines how old your brain is. When I first started my brain was 56. I'm 36 - for a few more days anyway. My brain is much older than me and this is NOT a good thing. The games offers daily training to improve the health of your brain. After using the game for a few weeks and doing my daily training faithfully each day, my brain age got down to 26. Not bad for a 36-year-old.

Then, my son up and decided it wasn't cool to share his Nintendo DS Lite with his mom. None of his friends share theirs with their moms so why should he. It's just not done.

So now here I am with a brain that is aging without me. Before you know it, my brain will be celebrating it's century birthday. I'll be 37 and sitting in a puddle of my own drool because my unexercised, untrained brain will have gone beyond it's golden years. How cool of a mom would I be then?

So, Crazy Hip Blog Mama's is giving away a PINK Nintendo DS Lite. If I won, I'd be able to save my brain from deteriorating and save myself the expense of a lifetime supply of Depends underpants.

BACK TO THE GRINDSTONE...

I go back to work today after a nice weekend. It seems strange to me to be going to work since I've been a SAHM for almost a year now. I really look forward to the paycheck!

I met some really nice people when I was there Friday night. My trainer is hilarious. She's a straight-forward type of person and I like that. I'm training with 2 other women. One is a single 23-yr-old that's extremely shy and the other is an older, married woman who's husband calls her every 2 minutes (her cell phone buzzed ALL evening). We spent a lot of time just chatting.

Meals are the hardest part for me to do. Since I'm up from early morning when the kids go to school until midnight, when would be the best time for me to schedule meals? I'm thinking I should just rethink the whole 3 meals a day thing and maybe go with 4 smaller meals. Any suggestions would be more than welcome.
Another thing I need to do is up my fiber intake. It has become an issue with me. Use your imagination and figure out why.

MOMMEEELAW...

I love the Miller Lite commercials with the group of guys sitting around deciding on what's acceptable and what's not. The "Don't fruit the beer" cracks me up. So here are some of my "Mommeeelaws" as declared by me:

1. Put the toilet seat AND lid down on the toilet. I hate to walk into the bathroom and find the bowl exposed...GROSS!

2. The toilet paper roll MUST be put on with the toilet paper coming from over the top...NEVER under.

3. Always rinse your dishes out before leaving them in the sink. I would like this law to be "Never leave dirty dishes in the sink" but I have to compromise somewhere.

4. Take your shoes off before you leave the tile by the front door. I'm not Japanese but I still feel this as appropriate because I don't want your mud and gook tracked on my carpet.

5. Don't put your shoes on my couch.

6. Correct your children while in my house. If you don't then I will. If you don't like me correcting your children, then take care of it yourself. (Tom, I hope you're reading this)

7. NEVER drink the last Coke out of my fridge. It's all MINE!

8. If you use my radio, put it back on MY station when you're finished.

9. Always makes sure I'm satisfied first 8-)

To be continued...

Note: Should you have a suggestion for a Mommeeelaw, feel free to leave a comment! I know there are 1000's that I've forgotten.

OFF THE WAGON...KINDA....

I worked my first night last night. Well, I didn't really work but I was "at" work. I spent the first half of the night filling out paperwork and watching those cheesy "this is our company" videos. I was impressed that it was all done on the computer. Even the forms for taxes were computerized. The company is striving to be completely paperless. Save a tree!

When I got home at 12:30 am I was SO SO hungry. Hubster had made baked chicken and veggies for dinner and made me a plate. I wasn't going to eat it but my tummy thought otherwise. The headache I had didn't help matters. So I ate the chicken and veggies...all of it! (Kuddos to Hubster for making good baked chicken!)

When I woke up this morning I still had the headache. Tylenol cured it, thank goodness. I wonder how many calories are in Tylenol?

I didn't step on the scale this morning for fear my midnight snack made me balloon. I feel like it today though.

So now here I sit wasting time until the Chiefs lose play in the playoffs today. Max is wearing his Chiefs gear, Trey won't wear his, and I'm wearing mine. I'm sure Hubster will put his on when he gets home from work. If they do lose, I'm going to blame Trey for not wearing his gear! LOL j/k

IT'S FRIDAY!!!...

It's finally Friday. I start my new job today. Yes, after a whole hellavalotta hassles, I was finally able to get fingerprinted. I'm looking forward to it.

Today is also weigh-in day for Future MILF's. I did really good this week. I lost 6.5 lbs! Not the huge drop I expected for the first week but considering the holiday and the stress of the week, I did pretty well.

I plan to add an extra vegetable to my diet this next week, probably as a snack (that will work out best for me).

I challenge all of the other Future MILF members to do the same! Whether it be a raw veggie or a cooked one, just add one extra serving of a vegetable to your menu.

I look forward to reading all of your blogs to see how you're doing!

This is not how I weighed in this week!

SO FAR SO GOOD...

I joined sparkpeople.com. It's fantastic! When you sign up, it asks you questions to determine your goals and then each day you go to the nutrition tab and list what you've eaten for the day. It tells you where you are in relation to your goals. I'm doing really well so far. I love it! It's now day 2 and I've stayed within my goals.

On the job situation, I was supposed to begin today but I wasn't able to be fingerprinted and it's required by the state. The place isn't open again until Friday so my first day at work has been moved to then. That's ok. I can deal.
